Trustee Rufus Ballentine, was the son of the late Louis and Clara Ballentine, was born April 8, 1938 in Wake County. He departed this earthly life on March 30, 2024, at WakeMed, Raleigh. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Singletary Ballentine and great-grandson, Grayson James Stallings.
Funeral, 10:30 AM, Friday, April 5, 2024, Watts Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 3703 Tryon Road, Raleigh. The Rev. Dr. Harry L. White Jr., Pastor, Officiating. Visitation, 10 AM to 10:30 AM, prior to the service. Interment, Carolina Biblical Gardens, 1530 Creech Road, Garner. Public viewing, Thursday, April 4, 2024 at the funeral home.
Trustee Ballentine leaves to cherish his memory, daughters Anita Crutcher (Michael), Candace Bethea; sons Kelvin Ballentine and Trey Weston; granddaughters Kimberley Crutcher, Brittany Stallings(Byron), Ashleigh Crutcher, Zoe Bethea, and Bailey Ballentine; grandson Louis Bethea(Mahogany); great granddaughters Iris Bell and Raegan Bethea; great-grandsons Landen and Lincoln Stallings; brothers Louis Ballentine(the late Katie Ballentine) and the late Arthur Lee Ballentine(Helen); sisters-in-law, Patricia Cannady, Edith Dozier(James) and Sequenta Singletary; brothers-in-law, Bernard Singletary(Ann), Earl Singletary(Beverly), Kenneth Singletary(Omar) and John Singletary (Shirley); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at 4017 Tryon Road, Raleigh.
