Mrs. Dorothy Ophelia Simpson Mangum, age 55, of 1732 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Raleigh, departed this life on Thursday, April 5, 2018, while visiting Myrtle Beach, SC.
Funeral, 12 Noon, Saturday, April 14, 2018, Poplar Springs Christian Church, 6115 Old Stage Road. Visitation, 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, Saturday, prior to the service. The Rev. Charles W. Brooks, Pastor. Dr. Mary Morgan, Officiating. Pastor Anthony Harris, Eulogist. Interment, Mount Hope Cemetery.
Survivors; husband, William L. Mangum Sr. of the home; daughters, Priscilla R. Simpson and LaShawnda Simpson Bradley (Eurickas) both of Raleigh and Charnisha E. Simpson of the home; son, William L. Mangum Jr. of the home; mother, Bishop Janell Scott Simpson of Raleigh; sisters, Janice Roberson, Mary Harrington (Herbert) and Peggie Smith (John) all of Raleigh; brother, Elder Frank Simpson Jr. (Sandra) of Raleigh; 7 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including her mother-in-law, Lenora Richardson of Raleigh.
Public viewing, 12 Noon - 8 PM, Friday, April 13, 2018, at the funeral home.
